The sort should be stable. If you sort by eye, then by fur, and select a fur so it's the only one you see, the eyes should remain sorted.
But, I just tested, and you're right.
I knew the module they're using was primitive, but I didn't realize it was that poorly written. Replacing it is possible. But replacing it seems a waste of time which would probably be better spent replacing the entirety of the Pedigree and Cattery pages.
