Forum Moderator - Gloria Marchant - 07-25-2014 06:25 AM I think we'd totally need an active moderator able to remove the clutter. A few examples: -close those threads in the "wanted" section when the person is not looking anymore or anything else by request and move them to a specific "archive" section if there's no way to delete them. -make sure that every thread is in the right place and not in the wrong section -delete double/triple posts with the same title and body if the person opens a new one for the same thing everyday. -the advertisement section - I see people opening multiple threads everyday for every cat they want to sell and that causes extreme congestion. A moderator will make sure all their cats are listed in the same thread to give everyone equal opportunities without reading 560 pages in a day. Thank you for listening!
RE: Forum Moderator - Deer Thistle - 07-25-2014 04:28 PM I agree! This would be so helpful especially for those of us who are obsessed with organization whose eyes twitch when they see multiple, accidentally posted topics resting in an unrelated subforum eternally. Would definitely love to see an active moderator dedicated to the forum.
RE: Forum Moderator - Dimpz Morane - 07-25-2014 07:15 PM LoL These lines made me laugh -delete double/triple posts with the same title and body if the person opens a new one for the same thing everyday. -the advertisement section - I see people opening multiple threads everyday for every cat they want to sell and that causes extreme congestion. A moderator will make sure all their cats are listed in the same thread to give everyone equal opportunities without reading 560 pages in a day. We all know this is so true and frustrating - I do hope someone can help clear this issue up soon. Thanks for doing this thread
RE: Forum Moderator - Tad Carlucci - 07-26-2014 08:58 PM http://mods.mybb.com/view/automove Quote:AutoMoveThe idea is to set up a hidden forum, then automagically move threads to it. I would apply it individually to each Forum under 'KittyCatS Market' and 'KittyCatS Comunity'. While in there, I'd remove all of 'KittyCatS Beta Test'. RE: Forum Moderator - Kayla Woodrunner - 07-29-2014 10:30 PM Oooh! Kittycats beta test. I want to be on the beta test team Oh course, I am assuming I am beta testing the new kittycats with wings. (and that's how rumors start flying.) ---- seriously, though, this sounds like a good idea to remove multiples. I tend not to use the view "today's posts" or "new posts" because of the replication. however, i do think a post may be mostly the same, slightly different and fit in different areas. I am thinking specifically of a post that might be in General or Breeding AND in Showcase. Under Showcase, you are basically showing off your baby. Under General or Breeding, you might be showing your baby but may have one or two additional questions or comments that fit in General or Breeding. You tend to get congrats in Showcase but more thoughtful responses in Breeding. General can be a mixed bag. This kind of thing is different than what is going on in the sales threads RE: Forum Moderator - Gloria Marchant - 09-27-2014 10:53 AM bump! We totally need a moderator, it's getting more and more frustrating. RE: Forum Moderator - Lostime Resident - 09-29-2014 01:00 PM It is not that easy to delete threads in a BB forum. If you look in the right top space of any post there is a number. As soon as you start moving or deleting posts, this number "link" "post count" gets corrupted and it is a endless task rebuilding the forums data base. Yes a mod would help. But one needs one 24/7 and with it comes a lot of complications. ![]() I've been a webmaster for many years! There are many pros and cons to moderating a forum 24/7.

RE: Forum Moderator - Winter Phoenix - 09-29-2014 01:48 PM Been there, done that. Its a total drag! Can't imagine there would be a long line of volunteers signing up. However, if they would give me control of the ' SIZE MANAGEMENT' button so I could make a CAT ARMY of those twenty foot monsterpusses, I'll be happy to slog through it! Otherwise....ehhhhhhhhhhhh
