I agree with many of the comments here. I think, and have stated before, that it is manifest to everybody that this is all about supply and demand and the supply of cats on the grid massively exceeds demand. I think that all of these issues should be dealt with as an economic system without bringing any personal feeling or personal ill-will into it at all. Competition and stress can bring out the worst in people, but I think we can agree that personal sniping will not fix anything (and it also didn't cause anything). I think that bringing the issue of auctions into this is a separate issue since those auction cats would be for sale anyway and that the issue of more auctions than the market can bear, lack of attendance at auctions, etc. is just an illustration or subset of the larger problems as a whole: the auction issue is real, but taking care of the supply/demand imbalance as a whole should help with the auction issue.

I have said before and will say again, the menagerie end needs to be sweetened. TAKE THE CATS OFF THE GRID.
This is an issue that does devolve entirely to KittyCatS HQ. They really do need to worry about killing the Golden Goose. Bringing more people into the KittyCatS hobby does bring in more buyers, but also creates a greater supply of cats - and I suspect that balance hurts the markets more than it helps - but it does sell more catfood. I would favor keeping the sales of LE collectibles at the store to 2 weeks. Reign in the supply.

Side issue: permapetting. I have argued elsewhere that HQ keeps the price up in order to keep the resale price of permapets high. But, I would, in fact, argue in favor of permapet potion sale. Really, that would help reward breeders. They would appreciate it. It would be a thank you. And honestly, most people want to permapet their favorite cats for personal enjoyment. A lot of permapetted cats Never hit the resale market. And I don't believe a limited sale of the potion would hurt overall. (Yes, a few large breeders would stock up, but a time limit on the sale would keep it from being systemic.)

There is the looming issue of SL2. Do the cats continue onto the new grid? (I hope so.) What does HQ even know about LindenLab's progress? How is this going to affect supply/demand, the continued existence of collectibles... etc. Why should we permapet if the cats are going away? Is the new grid an opportunity to address supply/demand issues? These are questions for which not all the answers are known. But their answers, as soon as they are known, will affect the KittyCats economy.
